Kia ora kotou all! My name is Michael Salmon and I’ll be your Student Association President for 2019. I’m in my final year of my BSc in genetics and microbiology with a minor in creative writing.
Though I’ve done many things in my life, MUSA Presidency is by far the biggest position I’ve had the honour of holding. Improving the lives of the thousands of students attending Massey University’s Manawatū Campus is at the forefront of my mind in all things.
My main focus is improving student mental health and wellbeing using direct methods such as improving services offered on campus, and indirect methods that are mostly informed by my own struggles with mental health and poor self image.
Though this is my main focus I promise to dedicate myself to any and all issues students bring my way.
Kia kaha, be strong.
