1: Summer Shakespeare
Every year a crazy bunch of individuals get together and re-enact Shakespeare plays. Sounds about as exciting as your Year 13 English class. However, this is one of the best things you will do all year. Not only does it make sense. It’s hilarious. This year ‘As you Like it’ is playing. You should go. It starts this Thursday. Plus gold coin koha so super cheap! Byo blanket/cuddle buddy though, as it gets chilly.
2: Take a photo at the Clocktower
No doubt by now, you’ve seen how sweet the lights are below the clocktower in the square. If you don’t have 500 photos of yourself in front of them by the time you graduate, you haven’t lived.
3: Play on the playground at the Esplanade
For the uninitiated, the Esplanade is the awesome park we have here. Inside it is a pretty sweet playground. There’s a hamster wheel, a fireman pole, good swings and one of those satellite whispery machines. Apparently they’re super cool to use but nobody ever wants to whisper to me in them. Apparently it’s ‘not cool’ when you’re 24.
4: Get yelled at by the Naked Pie Man (aka ‘Clothed Herbals Man’)
For those new to Palmy, you will not have experienced the joys of Naked Pie Man. Naked Pie Man used to sell pies naked. He got in trouble for that so decided to wear pants. However, drunken youth could still get a naked picture of themselves with him. The Naked Pie Man doesn’t get so naked anymore, nor does he sell pies. However, he does often yell at people.
5: Go to the windmills
Lastly, you’re in Palmy, you can see the windmills. How about you go see them. There’s nothing more terrifying than standing underneath one pondering ones existence. Plus they make big wooshy noises.
